SKIN PREPARATIONS GUIDELINES

Please follow these steps carefully to ensure the best experience and results:

  1. Hydration: Begin drinking plenty of water one week before your appointment. Proper hydration improves skin quality, leading to better results.

  2. Skin Care: Apply moisturizer daily for one week leading up to your appointment. Additionally, exfoliate your skin the evening before your session.

  3. Avoid Certain Substances: Refrain from consuming alcohol and avoid taking blood-thinning medications starting two days before the appointment. If you must take medication, please consider rescheduling, as it could impact the process.

  4. Nutrition: Tattooing can be physically taxing, so having a well-balanced meal beforehand will support your blood circulation and help you feel energized.

AFTERCARE

For best results, ensure hydration, proper moisturization, and protection of your tattoo during healing:

1. First Three Days: Keep the second skin plaster on for three days. Showering is okay, but avoid direct water pressure to keep it secure. Some ink and wound fluid beneath the plaster may obscure the tattoo; this is normal and aids healing.

2. Removing the Plaster: On day four, soften the plaster under warm water. Carefully stretch two corners, then peel it off parallel to your skin to avoid damage. Wash the tattoo with pH-neutral soap and warm water, then pat it dry.

3. Ongoing Care: From this point, wash the tattoo every 5-6 hours and apply a thin layer of cream ("Aquaphor" or coconut oil). Avoid scratching or picking at it. Refrain from activities like swimming, saunas, and exercise until fully healed (around two weeks).

4. If Given Plastic Wrap Instead of Plaster: Remove the wrap after an hour, wash with pH-neutral soap, dry with a paper towel, and leave it uncovered. Before bed, wash and dry it again, then apply a fresh wrap overnight to catch any remaining ink. In the morning, remove the wrap, wash, dry, and start regular care as above.
